I know Leah as a well-grounded, compassionate, and skilled therapist as well as a warm-hearted and self-aware person with a healthy sense of humor. Leah’s years of training and experience in psychoanalysis, along with a healthy dose of pure intuition, add to her bioenergetic sessions. She creates a safe space for clients to express and process locked-away feelings.
Leah’s work with me was transformative. She really understood how my life worked (and didn’t) and what mattered to me. She had the right mix of caring and “no B.S.” that helped me uncover some of the painful blocks in my life keeping me from living happily and successfully. Through the analysis and energetic work, I felt freer and was able to find more effective and satisfying ways of being in my work, in my relationships, and with myself.
I’ve only been working with Leah for a few months, and I’ve noticed that I’ve become much more present within myself. She has this way of making you feel comfortable even if you’re uncomfortable with yourself. The bioenergetic method of therapy has helped with uncovering feelings and experiences I can’t verbalize. Leah guides you throughout the process but never pushes beyond the point that you’re uncomfortable. I’m finally starting to be okay with feeling, and it’s all because of her.
From my very first session with Leah, I knew that she was different—that the type of therapy (bioenergetic therapy) was different and that it might actually work. I have tried different types of therapy on and off through the years. I can say that I have made a considerable amount of forward progress since I started working with Leah and the method of therapy that she uses.
When starting couples therapy with Leah, I was very skeptical at first upon hearing about bioenergetics. But when combined with the talking aspect, you discover (as a client) how interconnected your body and mind are—as one machine that is constantly trying to maintain harmony with itself. What I was most surprised at was the amount of energy the body stores from everyday events, especially trauma, that needs to be released to alleviate your own suffering. The power and methods of this approach accomplish that very effectively.
