Have you heard about Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) yet?
Yes, the “horse tranquilizer.”
And no, it’s not like that…
Ketamine is actually a well understood, well researched anesthetic that is used all over the world, every single day, that is SO safe, it’s the anesthetic of choice for babies.
Ketamine Therapy for Depression
Back in 2017 I had a patient ask me if I thought ketamine was a good choice for addressing depression.
And to be honest, I didn’t know much about it.
I’d heard some basics that it was being used to help people with Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD), but not much else.
Well, all that has changed now.
Ketamine Therapy for Mental Health
Since March of 2020 I have been diving DEEP into the world of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and learning more about psychedelic assisted psychotherapy in general as well.
Truth be told, though, since no psychedelic but ketamine is actually legal at this point, my main focus is on Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Ketamine Integration Therapy.
So, what does that mean for you?
It means that if you’re stuck, you have another option.
Which doesn’t mean ketamine is a magic solution.
Because you still have to be focusing on unpacking all the mental stuff if you want lasting change.
But it DOES mean that if insights from talking and bioenergetic bodywork haven’t been helping you reach your goals, you now have a legal option to catalyze and facilitate your progress.
How is Ketamine administered?
You can do it in a couple of ways.
You can receive IV treatment at any number of clinics in Tampa Bay. Or, you can contact one of the at-home oral programs out there. The one’s I know of are Nue Life and MindBloom.
Who is Ketamine Therapy for?
Since April 2020 I have watched dozens of my patients reap marked benefits from both their experiences under the influence of ketamine, and the integration they’ve done in therapy afterwards.
Every one of them has had improvement in symptoms they were struggling with, from depression and anxiety, to anger management, addiction, and relationship struggles.
So, if you’re curious about how, or if, ketamine might help you, check out one of the clinics here in Tampa, or one of the at-home programs I mentioned.
It’s a game changer.
