What Treasure do you Seek?
Are you looking to feel happier, eliminate depression, have a better sex life, be more decisive, have more energy, build your confidence, learn to say no, get control of your mouth or your actions?
Whatever it is, you can have it. Unless you are literally in prison, there is nothing holding you back from getting what you want except the fears you have about decisions you have to make, and/or feelings you have to face to make those decisions.
The Secret to Getting What You Want
The message of the clichés always seems to be the same:
- You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
- No pain, no gain.
- Your dreams lie just on the other side of your fear.
- The treasure you seek to find lies in the cave you fear to enter.
That’s because if it was easy and didn’t require facing something you fear, you’d already have what you say you want.
You Are Not Alone Facing Fear
A couple of weeks ago, I went to a conference in Lake Arrowhead out in California. It was called Fear of Life: Increasing our Capacity for Aliveness.
We spent 4 days working on how therapists can help you get what you want most effectively and efficiently.
And guess what?
To get that treasure, the one where I’ve helped you effectively and efficiently, I have to go into those caves too.
I know how scary it is to look at the shadows inside you. How scary it is to know and own things about yourself that you don’t want to believe are a part of you.
And I’m here to tell you that, as bad as it is, it’s worth it.
The treasure you seek is worth going into those dark unknowns inside you.
Ready to find some treasure?
We’ll talk.
