Better than all the rest!
Let’s say you’re a self-sufficient, hard-working, high achiever in Tampa Bay. If you’ve come to the conclusion that you need help with a mental or emotional difficulty, you’re more than likely going to wonder, who is the best therapist in Tampa? (or psychologist, or counselor, or life coach).
You might even type in the search bar, “best therapist Tampa” or “highest rated therapist Tampa.” Or any number of other, similar searches, depending on whether you are looking for help with depression, anxiety, relationships, your child, your anger problem, your secret low-self-confidence, or your overall lack of satisfaction with life.
Obviously, you don’t want to waste your time with someone who can’t help you with your specific problem. And you want a solution as quickly as possible. A reasonable assumption is that “the best” person will be able to help you.
So what makes someone, “The Best”?
To answer that question, we’ll turn to Seth Godin, the business and marketing guru who wrote a bunch of famous books, including one called, The Dip.
In, The Dip, Seth defines, “the best in the world.” And it’s this: “The best,” as in, the best for you. Right now, based on what you believe, and what you know. And “in the world,” as in, your world, the world you have access to.
So, if you’re looking for a depression/anxiety therapist, you want the best depression/anxiety therapist, who’s available, with an opening in their schedule at a time that works for you, at a price you can afford.
You want a therapist who’s “the best” because she’s got a lot of good recommendations. And because she fits your picture of what a great therapist is. And because she’s not too far away, and because she has a slot open.
That’s your “best in the world.” And as you can see, “the best in the world,” is a pretty flexible term.
“Best” is subjective. You get to define it, based on your convenience and your preferences.
So what is your preference for a therapist? And what is convenient for you?
Do you want to see a woman or a man? Someone young or old? Do you want someone who “specializes” in your problem? Do you want to use your insurance? How far are you willing to drive? How willing are you to rearrange your schedule?
You can have whatever you want. The “best therapist in Tampa,” is whoever you decide it will be.
